Court of Criminal Appeals upholds murder, burglary conviction of Enterprise woman

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Monday that the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has affirmed the conviction of an Enterprise woman.

According to evidence at the trial, on the night of November 16, 2020, 27-year-old Brittany Head and her husband, Tyquise Jenkins, went to a local convenience store where Jenkins got into a fight with another man, Micah Coon. Witnesses said that Jenkins was the aggressor.

Coon went into his home where he was followed by Head and others associated with Jenkins.

Coon then called 911 from his home and told dispatchers that someone was trying to break into his home.

The evidence showed that Jenkins, Head, and others forced their way into Coon’s home and Coon was shot and killed during the confrontation. Head testified at her trial and denied involvement in the murder.

The Covington County jury found her guilty of felony murder and burglary in the first degree on October 7, 2024. She was sentenced to life in prison.
