1 critically injured, 1 in custody in Wetumpka shooting

Wetumpka police have made an arrest in a shooting that critically injured a man.

Maj. Josh Barfoot tells Action 8 News that the shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Autumnwood Villlage.

Once officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds.

Maj. Barfoot said officers immediately performed life-saving measures until the paramedics arrived to transport the victim to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment.

As of Sunday morning, the victim remains in critical condition.

Maj. Barfoot said Tallassee police conducted a traffic stop Saturday on Highway 14.

The suspect in the shooting, 21-year-old Marzavius Robinson, of Eclectic, was inside the vehicle.

Tallassee officers detained Robinson until Wetumpka police arrived to arrest him.

Robinson is charged with 1st degree assault and is currently in the Elmore County Jail.
