Man’s body pulled from Alabama River

Prattville police have opened up a death investigation after a man’s body was pulled from the Alabama River Friday.

Police Chief Mark Thompson tells Action 8 News that around 9 a.m., a fisherman discovered the man’s body on the Autauga County side of the river near the train trestle that crosses near U.S. Highway 31.

Chief Thompson said the man’s body was recovered by the Prattville Fire Department and taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for identification.

Chief Thompson said there are no early indications of foul play at this time.
