ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police classify fatal shooting as death investigation

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have announced that a fatal shooting which happened in July will be classified as a death investigation.

The death had originally been classified as a homicide. Police haven’t said what type of evidence led to the change.

On Friday, July 4, at about 6:21PM, police were called to a shooting the 6000 block of Sherburn Road. That location is in a neighborhood between Virginia Loop Road and Troy Highway.

Officers found 20-year-old Labyrion Caffey of Montgomery with a fatal gunshot wound.
