Periods Of Rain And T-storms Through Friday

We’ve entered into an active weather pattern and it will continue through Friday.  Looks like we will encounter periods of rain and t-storms.   Some storms could be strong to possibly severe.  One good thing out of this event will be the potential for some much needed rainfall.

In the meantime, showers and t-storms will advance across our area tonight.  We expect occasional heavy downpours along with lightning and gusty winds.  There could even be a few strong to severe storms.   The main threat would be damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.

A cold front will make its entry into the state Thursday.  Looks like this frontal system will be our best chance for seeing additional rainfall across the area.    A few strong to possibly severe storms are possible Thursday into early Friday.  The main threat would again be damaging wind gusts. Rainfall potential will range between an inch to inch and a half.

We’re on the backside of the frontal system Friday afternoon.  A new surge of drier air will spill into the area and set us up for mainly dry weather conditions over the upcoming weekend.  A mostly sunny sky returns and we’re expecting highs temps in the mid 80s and lows lower 60s.
