Woman dies in mobile home fire in Lee County
A woman has died in a mobile home fire in the Beulah community of Lee County.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says it got a 911 call just before 5PM yesterday about a fire in the 8100 block of Lee County Road 252. The caller said she believed her roommate and a dog were inside the mobile home.
Deputies and the Beulah Fire Department arrived and saw heavy black smoke coming from one end of the single-wide mobile home.
Firefighters discovered an unresponsive woman inside, identified as 34-year-old Kasey Nichole Hartley. Lifesaving measures were attempted but were not successful.
Hartley’s body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for examination. This case is still under investigation by Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
