Alabama-based Guthrie’s has opened its second Montgomery restaurant.

Today, the chicken-finger chain opened its location at 5471 Atlanta Highway, near Faulkner University and Eastern Boulevard. It will employ around 50 people.

This new restaurant becomes the fifth new location to open this year.

Montgomery’s other location is on EastChase Parkway, which opened in 2023, bringing the chain back to the city after three former locations had closed years ago.

Guthrie’s was founded in Haleyville in 1965. Today, it’s headquartered in Auburn.

The company has around 70 locations in 11 states. Over the years, the company says many other chicken fingers-only chains have launched, but that it was the original.
