Much Cooler Air Heading Southward
We will continue to maintain a chance for rain through Thursday. It won’t be much but anything is better than nothing during the ongoing drought situation. A frontal system will sweep through Thursday and we’re into a cooler air mass over the weekend.
In the mean time, we’re expecting moisture to continue flowing into the area tomorrow and Thursday Occasional showers and possibly t-storms will pass through at times. Temps will manage the mid to upper 80s for highs and lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
We end up on the backside of a frontal boundary late Thursday. Northerly winds set up and transport drier air into the state. High pressure will settle over the deep south and that will help provide us sunny and cooler conditions. Daytime highs will only manage the upper 70s to lower 80s and overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 50s. This should give us a real taste of fall.
