Man found dead on Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery

Montgomery police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on Dexter Avenue downtown.

Montgomery police Lt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that just before 5AM on Saturday, they were called to the 100 block of Dexter Avenue, which is about a block away from the Court Square fountain.

That’s where she says officers found an unresponsive man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lt. McGriff confirmed to Action 8 News on Sunday evening that this was a homicide.

This is the 53rd homicide in Montgomery so far this year.
