What The Tech App of the Day: Partiful

Wtt Partiful

Holiday party season is just around the corner. And if you’ve ever used Facebook events, texts, or emails, you may want a better option. Evites are definitely the way to go.

Facebook is still one of the easiest ways to send party invites, but it’s got one problem. Not everyone you want to invite is on Facebook.

I found an app called “Partiful” that creates evites people will want to open.

Here’s how it works: you pick a theme, I’ll choose this one for my annual scary movie and nachos party. Add the date, time, location, and what’s going on. Partiful turns it into a professional-looking evite.

You can import your list of contacts or just type in their names and numbers. If your date is flexible, pick a few options and let guests vote on the one that works best.

Once it’s set, send the invites by text that’ll include everything. Date, a map, what people can bring, what they should wear, parking information, and even if guests can “chip in” for food or drinks.

When your friends open the link, they’ll see a fun animated page where they can rsvp with one tap.

You can also download a link or poster to share on Facebook or messenger. After the party’s over, guests can share their photos from the invite page.

Hosts can also use the Partiful website to plan and send evites. Best of all, it’s free for I-phone, Android, and on the Partiful website. It’s a fun way and easy way to plan something worth showing up for.
