Mainly sunny and dry for the rest of this week, some weekend rain

Our sunny and dry weather pattern continues Wednesday across central and south Alabama. High temperatures range from the mid 80s to near 90°, while the sky remains cloudless or close to. Temperatures fall into the mid to upper 50s Wednesday night with a clear sky. Thursday looks mainly sunny and dry with high temperatures in the mid 80s to near 90°. A few fair weather clouds return to the sky Friday, but our area remains dry with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Rain returns this weekend. However, much of Saturday looks dry. In fact, Saturday morning could be mainly sunny. However, clouds increase somewhat during the afternoon, with a few showers possible late. Rain and perhaps some thunder looks much more likely Saturday night into Sunday. A cold front brings and end to the rain by late Sunday. Temperatures may turn significantly cooler early next week, with lows potentially in the 40s, at least Monday night.
