Mainly cloudy, some showers early this week; Cool, dry Halloween

Sunday was cloudy, cool, wet, and windy- all the hallmarks of a gloomy day for central and south Alabama. With an ongoing drought across our entire area, rain was needed. However, rain amounts were mostly relatively light during the afternoon. Also, rain coverage likely becomes more isolated Sunday night. Otherwise, the sky remains mainly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s, and an east wind of 10 to 15 mph.

Monday looks mostly cloudy, with high temperatures only in the 60s to low 70s at best. Showers remain possible throughout the day, but coverage looks isolated. Clouds linger into Tuesday, but rain coverage looks near-zero. On Wednesday, a front brings scattered showers through our area, mainly during the morning. We may see some sunshine Wednesday afternoon. Some clouds linger Thursday as an upper-level low pressure system departs.

Halloween looks mostly sunny, but cool with high temperatures in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Next weekend begins dry with a mix of sun and clouds Saturday. However, a few showers appear possible Sunday. Meanwhile, cooler fall weather sticks around, with high temperatures in the low 70s and lows in the 40s. Next week begins sunny and dry, while cooler fall weather continues.
