Troy Police arrest suspect after string of car break-ins

A man has been arrested after several cars were broken into in downtown Troy and on Troy University’s campus.
Troy Police Chief Danny Barron says Andre Dean Kennedy was arrested and charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, attempting to elude and resisting arrest.
According to Chief Barron, officers had been investigating several reports of property stolen from vehicles.
On October 24th, officers were alerted to a suspicious person walking near the edge of Troy University’s campus. Later, a Troy University police officer saw a suspicious person inside of a parked vehicle. When the officer parked and approached, the suspect led officers on a foot chase.
The suspect, later identified as Kennedy, was taken into custody without further incident.
Kennedy is currently being held at the Pike County Jail without bond. Chief Barron says Kennedy was out on bond from a previous charge and violated the terms of that bond.
