Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and its team members have donated more than $363,000 to United Ways in Alabama.
The donation represents the generosity of about 4,200 team members at the automaker’s Montgomery assembly plant.
This year, team members pledged more than $293,000 to support United Way organizations in the River Region and the state. The plant added another $70,000.
“I’d just like to thank our team members and everyone who gave. Just the fact that they understood that this is a meaningful thing that happens in this community and it supports the River Region United Way,” Reginald Williams, the senior manager of human resources at HMMA said.
“Over the past year and-a-half, we have seen that it is food and housing insecurity and needing help with just basic needs, so that’s going to go a long way, the funds that we received from Hyundai today,” River Region United Way President and CEO Jannah Bailey said, regarding the need for assistance in the community.
Over the years, HMMA team members have donated more than $5.8 million to United Ways in Alabama.
