Montgomery man pleads guilty to murder, attempted murder
A Montgomery man has pleaded guilty to a shooting that left a woman dead and a man injured.
Montgomery County District Attorney Azzie Oliver says 33-year-old Denikko White pleaded guilty to the murder of Britney Bohannon and the attempted murder of Anthony Ervin, who were shot as they were walking down a residential street near Virginia Loop Road.
Oliver said on September 26, 2022, an SUV pulled up near the victims in the middle of the 3100 block of Fredricksburg Drive. White, who was one of the occupants of the vehicle, began shooting, hitting Bohannon and Ervin several times, Oliver said.
Bohannon was taken to a hospital where she died during surgery. Oliver said while Ervin survived, he suffered a
lasting impact from being shot.
White will be sentenced by Judge Monet Gaines at a later date.
“Gunning down someone in the middle of the street is absolutely cold, cruel and despicable. My office is dedicated to making sure Denikko White’s sentence reflects the consequences of committing this heinous, violent act. We will do everything
in our power to make sure justice is served for the victims,” Oliver said.
