Fire breaks out at Montgomery restaurant
Firefighters spent part of the evening Monday battling a fire at a Montgomery restaurant.
Firefighters were called around 7:06 p.m. to the Simply Southern Cafe in the 3400 block of McGehee Road. The restaurant is located across the street from LAMP High School.
Action 8 News was on the scene as fire was coming from the roof.
Montgomery Fire Rescue officials tell Action 8 News that firefighters made entry into the restaurant to begin putting it out.
Once crews conducted primary and secondary searches, no one was found.
Fire officials say no civilians or firefighters were injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
