The Alabama Democratic Party has named its new executive director.
Chairman Randy Kelley said Tuesday that Mark Onorato will now serve in that role.
“Mark is our new Executive Director and brings an array of field and legislative experience to the table,” said Kelley. “We look forward to the knowledge and fresh energy he will bring to our organization.”
Onorato attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Image Management. He spent time as a Field Organizer with the Montana Democratic Party before becoming a Legislative Director in the Missouri House or Representatives and a Legislative Aid with the Texas Senate.
He returned to organizing in North Dakota as the Regional Field Organizer for the North Dakota Democratic NPL in 2024 before taking on the role of ADP’s Executive Director.
Onorato says he looks forward to bringing his experience as a progressive political staffer and extensive background in campaign, legislative, and constituent work to the table.
“I look forward to utilizing my bevy of experience in campaign, policy and constituent work to continue the success of the ADP and its leadership to get Democrats elected up and down the ballot, “ said Onorato. “We’d like to elect Democrats up and down the ballot to pass policy solutions that work for all Alabamians in opposition to this administration’s ruinous economic policies.”
