Selma man killed in Lowndes County crash

A Selma man has been killed in a single-car crash in Lowndes County.

Alabama State Troopers say 61-year-old Carl Johnson was riding in a car that left the roadway and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver, 64-year-old Rosland Perkins of Selma, was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The wreck happened at about 1:21AM today on U.S. Highway 80, about two miles east of Lowndesboro.
