The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has charged a second suspect in a Montgomery gunfight that happened earlier this year.

Deputies were called around 8:30 p.m. on July 25 to the 6800 block of Atlanta Highway after receiving a call that there was an active gunfight involving multiple people. That location is between Brown Springs Road and Taylor Road.

Authorities say all of the suspects fled the scene prior to their arrival.

Multiple vehicles and firearms, including an assault rifle, used in the crime were recovered.

On November 26, deputies arrested 18-year-old William Wingard, of Montgomery.

According to court records, Wingard discharged a firearm into the gas station while sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked outside of it.

Witnesses later identified Wingard as the suspect.

According to those same records, four people were inside at the time of the incident.

Wingard is the second person arrested in this case.

On July 26, deputies located and arrested one of the suspects, 19-year-old King Walker, also of Montgomery.

Wingard and Walker have been charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Building. Wingard is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on an $80,000 bond, while Walker is currently out on bond.
