Early morning fire in Dallas Co. sparks death & fire investigations

A death investigation is now underway following a fire early Tuesday morning in Dallas County.

Waka Fatalfire1209 VoAuthorities responded to a fire on the 8300 block of County Road 39 at around 1:15 this morning — and found a small camper trailer fully involved.

When fire fighters put out the fire they found a deceased man inside the camper.

The body was sent to forensics for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

“Every time we respond to a fatality or a death we always list it as a death investigation that way we can make sure that we follow the evidence and find out exactly what happened,” said Chief Deputy John Hatfield.

The cause of the fire is also under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
