Pay It Forward: Netty Hunter
Everyone that knows Netty Hunter calls her a jewel.
“It’s just speaks to how her spirit is and people love to be around her spirit,” said Kimberly Whiting, who nominated Hunter. “She’s a sweet heart. That’s my aunt and we love her so much. She not only helps the church, she also helps our family, so she’s just a wonderful person to be around.”
Hunter spent 40 years working for Montgomery Public Schools. Now that she’s retired, she’s continuing to serve others through her cooking.
“That’s my passion,” said Hunter “I cooked in the school for 45 years. And after I retired, I wanted to keep moving on. I cook for my pastor. And I truly enjoy it. It’s just me. And I just love getting into my kitchen and cooking for the family and whoever else I can cook for.”
Hunter steps up when she’s needed and she’s always cooking up something special.
“My kitchen is not that big. And I know how to rotate and cook by time,” said Hunter.
For all that Hunter does, Stewart Vance with the Vance Law Firm is paying it forward to her. As the winner, Stewart presented her with $333.
Hunter says she will use the money to spend on her family during the Christmas holidays and get ready for the Christmas meal.
