A Demopolis murder suspect is now facing additional charges after investigators uncover new evidence in the case.

Marengo County District Attorney Rachel England says investigators have found new evidence in the 2023 death of Damon Lee Gibson of Linden.

Waka Demopupdate0102 PkgShe says the discovery of more remains in Myrtlewood, AL — has lead to another arrest — and additional charges for the man accused of Gibson’s murder.

“We have charged two individuals, Taylor Sheffield and Michael Bozeman with abuse-of-a-corpse. That’s in relation to what we have reason to believe are the remains that were recovered that belong to Damon Gibson,” said England.

“Michael Bozeman has also been charged with possessing a firearm while he was on bond for a violent offense.”

Gibson was reported missing in 2022 — and remains were found in Demopolis in April of 2023.
Bozeman was arrested and charged with the murder in the case — and later freed after posting bond.

England says she plans to file a motion with the court — to have Bozeman’s bond revoked.

If granted — a bond revocation would keep Bozeman in jail until his murder trial — or until a judge decides to reinstate a bond.
