Two people killed, five injured in Marengo County crash

Two people have been killed and five others injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marengo County.

Alabama State Troopers say the wreck happened at about 6:30PM Tuesday, January 6 on U.S. Highway 80, about five miles west of Uniontown.

Investigators say 75-year-old Authur L. Mendenhall of Pine Hill was driving a pickup truck that collided head-on with a car driven by a 16-year-old from Faunsdale. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers say two people in the pickup truck, 32-year-old Nicole Stacy of Thomasville and 56-year-old Dorothy Grayson of Pine Hill, were injured and taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis for treatment.

In addition, a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old, who were also passengers in the pickup, were injured and taken to a hospital.

A 17-year-old, who was a passenger in the car, was injured and airlifted to a hospital for treatment, state troopers say.

No other information about the wreck has been released.
