Search underway for missing boater in Autauga County
The search is underway for a missing boater in Autauga County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, 54-year-old James R. Dawkins, of Wetumpka, launched what is believed to be a 12 foot Jon boat equipped with only a trolling motor near Shelton Landing on the Alabama River.
No contact has been made with Dawkins since he launched his boat.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Autauga County Rescue Squad, the Millbrook Police Department and the Elmore County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) are assisting with the investigation.
