Salvation Army of Montgomery looks ahead following 2025 holiday donation season

The Salvation Army of Montgomery wants to thank everyone for their donations during the Christmas season, while offering a reminder that it has needs all year long.

Capt. Thomas Johnson says that Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive was such a success in bringing in donations that it was able to help other non-profits provide gifts for children in need this past Christmas.  Action 8 has organized the drive for one dozen years with the help of several community partners.

The Red Kettle Campaign did not have enough bell ringers at the start of the event, Johnson said. With the help of local sponsors, more people became available to ring the bells. The campaign did not meet its goal for 2025, but the good news is that donations exceeded those of 2024. The money raised goes to various Salvation Army programs in Montgomery.
