Alabama Presidential Primary 2 Months Away
We are two months away from the primary election in Alabama. Political analyst Steve Flowers says to expect Alabama to receive a lot of attention.
2016 is here… And a new President will be elected before it ends.
Alabama voters will get their first chance at voting March 1st.
While the state will join Texas and Georgia along with a long list of other states for the primary, Alabama will see it’s share of candidates.
“We aren’t the biggest state, but we will probably see all the major candidates come here. They’ll come to all the states, and it will be an important day that day. It will be a ‘make or break’ day for most of the candidates,” said Flowers.
Flowers says its been a strange year in politics, and never has he seen outsiders like Donald Trump doing so well. In fact, he says Trump could play a big role with Alabama voters.
“It’s hard to predict what will happen. I do think if things stay the same, that Trump will probably carry Alabama. It will be interesting to see how far he goes on the national level,” said Flowers.
While this primary won’t determine the nominee, it will give a good idea of what voters are looking for in the next President.
Flowers says with a long list of GOP candidates, it does give the Democratic candidates like Hillary Clinton an advantage.
“She’s able to save her money, save her ammunition while these people over here are beating each other up. So they arrive at the dance ‘beat up and broke,’ if you will,” said Flowers.
It’s all a part of the race for The White House that is about to heat up even more as the new year begins.
