Fort Deposit voters elect new mayor, council members

Voters in Fort Deposit have elected a new mayor and city council members.

Residents chose Madelene Means as the town’s new mayor. Means beat the incumbent Jacqulyn Boone 271-199.

In the District 2 town council, the results for that race are as follow:

  • Lillie Davison 105
  • Adriana Gray 206
  • Yvonne Jones 128
  • Willa Perdue 125
  • William Stiener 118
  • Debbie Webb 183

Voters had to choose three candidates for that seat, so Gray, Webb and Jones took home the top spots.

The election came after a judge threw out some results of the town’s August 2025 municipal election.

As Action 8 News has reported, those results of the mayor’s race and the District 2 town council race were thrown out because of the discovery of hundreds of illegal absentee votes.

Questions were first raised last September, which led to a lawsuit filed by the town attorney.
