Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., honored with YMCA Day of Service

Dozens of people in Montgomery wanted to do more on the federal holiday in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., than just have a day off from work.
They took part in the YMCA Day of Service project to help clean up the community.
The historic Cleveland Avenue YMCA was full of volunteers of all ages who were ready to get to work on this 22nd Annual MLK Day of Service event.
This service day included supporting Reality and Truth Ministries’ homeless shelter, a community garden beautification project and a huge clean-up effort near the Cleveland Avenue area.
Many community groups came out to help, including local sororities, fraternities and even the Alabama State University baseball and track teams.
