City of Montgomery to open warming center due to expected cold temperatures
The City of Montgomery will open its warming center overnight Thursday due to the expected cold temperatures.
The Warming Center is located at the Crump Center at 1751 Congressman Dickinson Drive.
It will open starting at 7:00 p.m. tonight and close tomorrow at 7:00 a.m.
People in need of shelter from the cold weather are welcome during those times. No pets are allowed.
The City of Montgomery says it is working with the M Transit System for bus service along Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) and will post the schedule at the Warming Center and on the Montgomery City/County Emergency Management Agency’s Facebook page.
The City of Montgomery and the Emergency Management Agency’s cold weather plan provides a warming center when temperatures are forecast to be below 32 degrees for 4 hours or more.
