Light Rain Activity Possible Wednesday
It’s going to feel a little bit like spring across the area this week. Temps will warm nicely and we’re expecting several days will highs in the 70s. There will be a few opportunities for rain during the work week but a better chance comes over the upcoming weekend.
In the meantime, we expect a mostly cloudy sky with a shower possible and temps hovering in the 50s overnight. A frontal boundary slides into the state Wednesday. This boundary will help trigger some rain activity as it works through the area. Rainfall potential will be light and range between .10 to .25 of an inch. The front pushes south of us and we’re in between weather systems Thursday. The boundary will return as a warm front and return the chance for rain Friday night. Temps will still manage to warm into the upper 60s to lower 70s during the latter half of the workweek.
Our rain chances will increase over the upcoming weekend. The frontal system will still be linger over the area and be the focal point for rain and possibly t-storms late Saturday into Sunday. An area of low pressure will develop and move along the boundary and this could spark additional thunderstorm activity Sunday. Right now, we don’t see anything too strong or severe but we are watching for any signals as we get closer to the weekend. Temps will continue to reach the 70s for highs both days. High pressure will build over the deep south early next week. This should provide us with a sunny sky and more warm temps. Looks like no bitter cold air in sight and more of that 70+ degree warmth .
