Man charged with child pornography possession in Tallapoosa County

A man has been arrested on a charge of child pornography possession in Tallapoosa County.

Sheriff Jimmy Abbett says 39-year-old Brandon Dotson is being held in the county jail where he awaits a bond hearing.

Abbett says yesterday, investigators with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Tallapoosa County Narcotic Task Force and the Alexander City Police Department executed a search warrant on Highway 63 North in Goodwater.

He says the warrant was issued as part of an ongoing investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material and that Dotson was taken into custody at the scene following the search and preliminary review of the digital evidence collected.

Abbett says this investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected in this investigation.
