Montgomery native eliminated on ‘American Idol’
A Montgomery native who got the golden ticket on American Idol has been eliminated after not being chosen for the Top 30.
25-year-old Trew the Star wowed the judges during his audition with his rendition of “Nothing Can Change This Love” by Sam Cooke.
The performance helped secure his trip to Hollywood.
During Monday night’s episode, Trew sang “Love and Happiness” by Al Green in hopes to secure his spot, but failed to make the cut.
On the show, Trew talked about his struggles in life and how he was able to persevere through his love for music.
Trew the Star was one of five Alabamians that made it on American Idol this season.
