Low rain chance returns Thursday, continues through this weekend
Thursday was already a very warm day by midday, with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. The sky was partly cloudy, while our area was dry through the morning. Thursday afternoon remains partly to mostly sunny, with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s, some 10 to 15° above normal for early March in central and south Alabama. A few stray shower appear possible, but the vast majority of our area remains dry.
Low clouds and some fog develop again late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Otherwise, temperatures remain mild with lows near 60°. Friday looks like another abnormally warm day, with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Isolated showers, perhaps some storms appear possible during the afternoon and early evening. However, most of our area remains dry again.
Rain/storm chances appear slightly higher this weekend, with showers and perhaps some thunder becoming widely scattered Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise, temperatures remain very warm, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Very warm weather continues into next week, with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s Monday and Tuesday. Some showers or storms appear possible Monday, but Tuesday looks drier.
Another cold front may finally bring cooler temperatures late next week. Longer range models still show the front arriving between Wednesday and Thursday. The front also brings another round of rain and/or storms to our area Wednesday into Thursday. If the front pushes through our area Thursday, Friday and next weekend could be dry with sunshine. Meanwhile, high temperatures may return to near-normal, in the low 70s Thursday and Friday.
