Rain And Storms Likely Tonight Into Early Thursday

We have a strong to severe storm threat for our entire area tonight into early Thursday.  Much cooler and breezy conditions will follow behind the rain activity. The weekend is looking fairly nice but prepare for more cold air early next week!  Old man winter isn’t done with us just yet.

In the meantime,  we’re expecting a line of rain and storms to enter West Alabama this evening and advance eastward overnight.  Some storms could be strong to possibly severe.  The main threats will be damaging winds, hail, and possibly a few brief tornadoes.  Since this is coming through overnight,  make sure you have a way to receive warnings.

The latter half of the week will be trending a bit cooler. Northerly winds will kick in and usher in some cooler air to the state.  We’re expecting temps to only reach the mid 60s for highs Thursday afternoon.  Overnight temps will be falling into the upper 30s to lower 40s Thursday night into Friday morning.   High pressure will be building over the region and that will help provide mainly sunny and dry conditions through Saturday. Another frontal system will approach late Sunday and move through the state Monday.  This system will bring in a round of rain and then followed by much cooler air. We could experience lows in the lower 30s early Tuesday morning of next week.
