8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Toyota is recalling more than 550,000 SUVs, due to a problem with the seats.

The recall involves 2021-2024 Toyota Highlander SUVs, both the gas and the hybrid versions.

Federal regulators say their second-row seats don’t always lock into position after adjustment. They say that could lead to an injury in a collision.

Dealers will repair the seats for free. Owners can expect to get letters from Toyota next month.
