District Two Councilwoman Julie Beard hosts town hall meeting
District Two Councilwoman Julie Beard held a town hall meeting this evening at Dalraida Baptist Church.
People came to ask questions and voice their concerns about things they think are important going on in their community.
There were several speakers that included numerous city officials from the fire department, sanitation, and law enforcement, among others.
Councilwoman Beard also spoke directly to her constituents about some of the progress her district has made under her leadership.
“The best thing to do for me is that I keep in constant communication. I want them to know that I care, and that they can reach out, so once a quarter we have a town hall,” said District Two Councilwoman, Julie Beard.
“The personal one-on-one contact with the city officials and city department is very important because they can’t do it all by themselves, they need our help too,” said Nina Kynard, District Two resident.
“It’s also informative because the community members have an opportunity to voice their concerns, and from those concerns, Mrs. Beard is very good about addressing them,” said District Two resident, Jill Byrd.
Councilwoman Beard has been serving District Two for almost three years.
