Opelika shooting leads to school lockdowns

A shooting at an apartment complex in Opelika led to a lockdown at several schools.

Police say just before 11AM today, they got a report of an active shooter at Arbor Place Apartments, which are on Fox Run Parkway. They found a person in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

Four Opelika schools were put on lockdown as police searched for the shooter. Once a suspect was arrested, the lockdown was lifted.

Police haven’t yet released the name of the suspect or provided other details.
