Main Street Montgomery holds 2nd annual “Pints & Plans”
Main Street Montgomery held their 2nd annual town hall in downtown Montgomery.
Main Street Montgomery is a non-profit organization that works to bring more vibrancy and life to downtown Montgomery.
They brought together local business owners, property owners, realtors, residents, and others to network with each other and grow support for the work they do.
They held a slide show presentation about the work they did last year as well as their plans for 2026.
“Try to lift the alcohol ordinance for the no outside alcohol. That might help a lot because a lot of downtown Montgomery interactions are with a lot of grown people, and grown people like to walk around with a little alcohol in their hand. So, maybe try to get that lifted and put more of a security presence in downtown. Lift the alcohol ordinance and bring some more security, and I think we’ll be alright,” said Operations Manager for Block By Block, Kelson Palmer, on how to bring some life to downtown.
“Main Street Montgomery is a really important part and tool in the city of Montgomery’s toolbox of how we can revitalize downtown. Main Street Montgomery helps uplift businesses, it helps talk about designing improvements, and quality of place improvements that we can do downtown, just to make everything more happy, vibrant, and more joyful,” said Lois Cortell, Dept. of Economic & Community Development.
