Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office hosts annual Easter egg hunt

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office held their annual Easter egg hunt Saturday.

Hundreds came out to Auburn University at Montgomery to get in on the festivities. There were nearly 3000 eggs for kids of all ages to go on the hunt for.

After, kids were able to collect their prize baskets full of sweet treats and toys. Many families and their kids lined up to get a picture with the Easter Bunny.

“This is what it’s all about. It’s us giving back to the community, it’s seeing law enforcement in a different way, we’re not riding around in a car with lights on it. Instead, out here today, we’re giving back to our babies. We’re making sure that they have a joyful Easter, keeping up with tradition, have the Easter Bunny, find eggs, get prizes, and that’s all what most kids want to do. We try to provide that, and as you can see from the number of people that came out today, it was tremendous,” said Sheriff Derrick Cunningham, Montgomery County.

Kids that found a golden ticket in their egg received a large basket full of candy, toys, and games.
