Man on scooter dies of injuries after being hit by SUV in Lee County
LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A man on a scooter in a roadway has died after being struck by an SUV in Lee County.
Alabama State Troopers say 38-year-old Bryan Pesotski of Fayetteville, Georgia, was stationary on the scooter on U.S. Highway 29 when the SUV hit him. The crash happened just before 8:30PM on Tuesday, April 7.
He was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional-Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, where he died two days later.
Investigators say 51-year-old Shasta Kerns of Opelika was the driver of the SUV.
The crash happened about four miles northeast of Opelika.
