Montgomery police arrest man in deadly shooting

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police have charged a man in a 2025 deadly shooting.

It happened on Thursday, March 20, 2025 around 7:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Havelock Lane.

Once officers arrived, they found 23-year-old Shaquille Davis, of Montgomery, with fatal injuries from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have charged 21-year-old Jarquavious Ahmad Smith with Capital Murder.

Smith is the second person charged in this case. In April 2025, Montgomery police also charged 21-year-old Lamicheon Allen in connection to the shooting death of Davis.

Smith is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
