Missing elderly Dallas Co. man survives overnight stay in swamp

A missing elderly Dallas Co. man — is rescued safe and sound — after spending the night — in a swamp.

U. S. Marine veteran 92 year old Elton Ralston and his dog walk around the family farm all the time.

But when they didn’t return home by late Friday evening — the family started searching — and called 911.

Crews searched into the night until 1 am — then resumed searching early the next morning.

Ralston was found — stuck in the swamp — just before dark.

“He spent the night it appears, in the swamp, under water up to about his chest. He was covered kind of with reeds so you couldn’t see him,” said Russell Ralston.

“And so the only way we found him was one of the searchers said something to another one and Daddy said, Are you talking to me?”

Elton Ralston was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was released Monday morning.
