AUBURN, Ala. (WAKA) – Auburn City Schools has announced that all students will be eligible for free breakfast at school.

The free breakfasts will start Friday, May 1, and continue through the 2026-2027 school year.

They are funded by an Alabama School Breakfast Grant, made possible by the Alabama Legislature.

School officials say the goal is to make sure every student has access to a nutritious start to their day while supporting student well-being, improving focus and behavior and boosting academic performance.

Auburn City Schools serves more than 9,400 students across 14 campuses.
