Annual Art Splash fundraiser raises money for Montgomery Christian School
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Art lovers in the Montgomery area got the chance to browse one-of-a-kind art work Thursday night, all for a good cause.
Montgomery Christian School’s annual Art Splash is back for its 14 year.
Hosted by Tom and Amy Methvin at their house on Hull Street, guests got the chance to look through dozens of original art pieces that are up for auction, made by artists across the River Region.
Guests also got to enjoy live painting demonstrations and live music at the auction.
With over 80 yearly sponsors, and thousands of dollars raised, all of the money raised during this annual event helps fund scholarships for Montgomery Christian School. The Beasley Allen Law Firm is the lead sponsor of the event, and has raised more than $1 million for the school over the past several years.
“The main reason Beasley Allen chose to be a lead sponsor is because, year after year everybody in the community gets together and they support our education,” sad Tom Methvin. “Montgomery Christian School is providing a loving, nurturing education for kids who many, at no fault of their own, do not have the same chance that others have. What a great way to help the community, get the community together and just help in general. It’s kind of like throwing a rock into a pond and the little circle gets bigger and bigger — Montgomery Christian School is the rock in the pond.”
Art pieces are still up for auction through May 4. You can learn more about Art Splash and bid on avalaible pieces on the Montgomery Christian School’s website.Â
