Troy Mayor Jason Reeves chosen for League of Municipalities position

TROY, Ala. (WAKA) – Troy Mayor Jason Reeves has been chosen as vice president of the Alabama League of Municipalities Board of Directors.

The Alabama League of Municipalities provides advocacy, training and resources for local governments across the state. The League helps municipal leaders stay informed on laws and policies, offers guidance on best practices, and serves as a unified voice for cities at the state level.

Reeves has served as Troy mayor since 2012. Before that, he was on Troy City Council for 16 years, and was just 24 years old when he was first elected in 1996.

Riverside Mayor Rusty Jessup was chosen as president of the league.

The annual convention was held at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa/Montgomery Convention Center from April 28-May 1.
