ACTION 8 UPDATE: Police release name of fatal shooting victim in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police now released the name of the man who died after being shot on East Delano Avenue.

Montgomery police Lt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that the shooting happened at around 6:19PM last night in the 200 block of East Delano Avenue. That is near the intersection of Southmont Drive, between South Court Street and Norman Bridge Road.

McGriff said officers found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Dacareo Banks of Montgomery.

She said the case is currently being treated as a death investigation.

No other information has been released.
