ACTION 8 UPDATE: Arrest made in fatal shooting of Montgomery teenager

ACTION 8 UPDATE (WAKA) – Montgomery police have announced an arrest in the fatal shooting of a teenager last year.

20-year-old Leighton Jones has been charged with capital murder in the death of 15-year-old Tyrell Foster.

As Action 8 News has reported, on Friday, November 14, 2025, at about 4:46PM, police and fire medics were called to the 3500 block of Fairground Road. That’s where they found Foster dead of a gunshot wound.

Jones was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility today.
