The Heart of Alabama Food Bank hosted it’s “Budget Bites Battle” Saturday
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The competitive culinary fun was in full force this morning in Montgomery.
The Heart of Alabama Food Bank’s “Budget Bites Battle” was epic. Families and businesses had to stay within a $20 budget and to create their their culinary comfort foods. That ranged from chicken and dumplings to spaghetti to beans and cabbage.
The judges gave the Best Overall award to TH and Company, the Best Budget award was awarded to Larry Richardson & family, and the People’s Choice award was given to Kassandra Rountree and her team at ARC Realty.
“I think it’s really important to have events like this to bring people together and do something fun. We’ve got families here, some of our team members here as well, but it’s just a fun event. Even though it may be raining outside, we are having the best time here at the heart of the Alabama food bank,” said Director of Corporate & Community Partnerships for the Alabama Food Bank.
