Mainly dry through this weekend, temperatures near 90° next week

Sunshine was abundant throughout Wednesday morning. Thanks to a clearing sky Tuesday night, temperatures fell into the mid and upper 50s in most locations early Wednesday. However, sunshine warms temperatures into the low and mid 80s Wednesday afternoon. The sky remains partly to mostly sunny for the rest of the day. Temperatures fall into the mid and upper 50s again Wednesday night, while the sky remains mainly clear.

The rest of the week looks dry with a mostly sunny sky Thursday, and a partly to mostly sunny sky Friday. Temperatures warm into the low to mid 80s each day, and cool into the 50s each night. This weekend looks rain-free with a partly to mostly sunny sky Saturday and Sunday. However, temperatures and humidity trend higher. Temperatures reach the upper 80s each afternoon. Overnight lows only cool into the low 60s Saturday night, and mid 60s Sunday night.

Next week may begin dry, but chances for rain and storms return around the middle of the week. Models show a cold front approaching Alabama Wednesday. However, we are approaching the time of year where fronts tend to stall en route to our area. We may not have widespread rain Wednesday, but isolated to widely scattered showers and storms remain possible Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, high temperatures may be near 90° Monday through Wednesday.
