ACTION 8 UPDATE: Name released of victim whose body was pulled from Lake Martin

First responders search for missing person on Lake Martin.

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – Troopers with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division are investigating an apparent drowning on Lake Martin.

ALEA tells Action 8 that troopers responded to Chimney Rock on Lake Martin about the report of a person that was in the water and did not resurface.

Montgomery Fire Rescue says divers helped perform systematic search  operations. After several hours in the water, the missing person’s body was found.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin says the victim was 24-year-old Jayden Baretta, a student in Georgia.

ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division, Montgomery Fire/ Rescue, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, Delta Division Dive Team, ALEA, Montgomery EMA, and Elmore EMA all helped in the efforts.
